Dear Esteemed Members,

It is with profound honour and humility that I assume the role of President of the Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists, and Leprologists (IADVL), West Bengal Branch, for the year 2025-2026. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for entrusting me with this responsibility.

Reflecting on our journey, I am inspired by the unwavering dedication and resilience our community has demonstrated. The recent CUTICON WB 2024, held at Dhono Dhanyo Auditorium in Kolkata, was a testament to our collective commitment to advancing dermatological science.

As we navigate the evolving landscape of dermatology, our mission remains steadfast: to foster academic excellence, promote ethical practices, and enhance patient care. The initiatives outlined in our Mission & Vision statement—ranging from establishing disease registries and community dermatology projects to strengthening research through the IADVL Academy—serve as our guiding framework.

In the coming year, I am committed to:

• Enhancing Academic Endeavours: Organizing regular Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs, workshops, and webinars to keep our members abreast of the latest developments in dermatology.

• Promoting Research and Innovation: Encouraging collaborative research projects and facilitating access to research grants to nurture a culture of scientific inquiry.

• Strengthening Community Outreach: Implementing community dermatology initiatives to extend our services to underserved populations, thereby fulfilling our social responsibility.

• Fostering Ethical Practices: Continuing our efforts through the Anti-Quackery Cell to uphold the integrity of our profession and safeguard public trust.

• Embracing Digital Transformation: Leveraging digital platforms to enhance communication, education, and engagement among members, ensuring seamless access to resources and information.

I acknowledge the exemplary leadership of my predecessors, whose contributions have laid a robust foundation for our association.

As we embark on this new chapter, I invite each of you to actively participate in our endeavours. Your insights, expertise, and enthusiasm are invaluable assets that will drive our collective success.
