Presidential Prelude

I am immensely pleased to be given the honour of being the President of the IADVL West Bengal Branch. I hope to continue the work of previous Presidents and Executive Committees in working together to enable the Society to fulfill its goals. The work done my immediate past President Dr. Koushik Lahiri, Secretary Dr.Kingsuk Chatterjee and entire EC was simply superb, innovative, productive and exemplary. They have raised the bar of our organization. It will be a challenging job for us to live up to the expectations of our members in the state and IADVL national body as well.

I have planned many activities with the help of the members and executives. Few of my important aims are to improve teaching curriculum, guidelines and up gradation of society journals and periodicals.

Our Journal, “Indian Journal of Dermatology” is one of the oldest Dermatology Journal in Southeast Asia. The Journal started in the year 1955 and Dr. Ganapati Panja was the first Editor. The Journal is indexed and well acclaimed Nationally and Internationally.  We are also proud to have well decorated Branch Offices in Moon Plaza and in Creek Row. Very few state Branches have their own offices like ours. We also have well designed dynamic website with all latest activities. We are not lagging behind in academics also. Under the dynamic leadership of our Academy Chair Dr.Sudip Das has flourished like never before. We have regular Clinical Meetings in different Medical colleges. We organize large number of workshops and CME for our members. This year we have also planned to organize IJD PlatinumCON 2024 at The Park Hotel, on 19th May, 2024. Our Association also funds Research Projects for its members. Our association always stood beside the members and thought for their benefits. This year a noble and novel step taken by our EC was providing 50% special discount on conference registration fees for IADVL WB members joining DVL Trust. I request all our members to enroll for DVL Trust. It is for our welfare. I also emphasize to all to register for e-voter so that they can exercise their voting right as entire voting system of IADVL is going to become fully digital soon. We must not forget the dedication and hard work of our seniors. They paved the way for our success.

We can assure you that in near future we will try to give more benefits to our members but at the same time we need more young blood to join us to take our association forward. We need the blessings and guidance of our seniors. Let us work together to form a society ‘by us, for us and of us!!’ to take IADVL West Bengal to a new height.

Thanks & regards.
Long live IADVL WB !
