Benefits and privileges of a member

  1. All life members will be provided with a badge with the emblem of IADVL, an identity card and a life membership certificate bearing the life membership number.
  2. All classes of members shall have the right to attend and participate in all general and clinical meetings, conferences, lectures, etc. organized by the National Body or Branches of IADVL.
  3. All members are entitled to receive the official organ of the association, the Indian Journal of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprology (IJDVL), an indexed journal in Index Medicus/Pubmed, and also Indian Journal of Dermatology (IJD) an indexed Journal in Index Medicus / Pubmed, published by IADVL, WB Branch.
  4. All members are entitled to receive all mailers/announcements/brochures for National Conferences organized by IADVL and West Bengal State Conferences.
  5. All members are entitled to receive IADVL NEWS, the official bulletin of IADVL.
  6. All IADVL members are automatically members of SARAD (South Asian Regional Association of Dermatologists)as well.
  7. All life members are eligible for election as office Bearers (only if they meet the requirements) or as members of the Central Council and they shall be entitled to vote in the election of office bearers at the state or national level. (These privileges are not applicable in cases of retired Members, Provisional Life Members and Honorary Members.)
  8. Only IADVL members are eligible for any fellowship, scholarship, award, medals offered by or through IADVL.
  9. The members are entitled to hold conferences organized by any state branch under the banner of IADVL.
  10. Postgraduate students after passing their degree / diploma are eligible to become life members.
  11. Post-graduate students who are Provisional Life Members of the association will be offered concessional registration fees at the annual national and state conferences.


Membership Rules

It was resolved in the Annual General Body meeting at Chandigarh (2008) and Bangalore (2009) not to enroll any non-dermatologists, without any degree or diploma in the subject of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprology as member of IADVL. Membership will be given strictly on basis of the criteria decided in the AGBMs and published in the IADVL News (April 2008 and April 2009).


Ordinary Members:

  • This Category has been discontinued from IADVL,WB State Branch.


Life Members:

  • Only Medical Practitioners with qualification in Allopathic (Modern) Medicine under the Indian Medical Degrees act, 1916 Clause 2 Act VII and registrable with any of the State Medical Councils of India and possessing a Post-Graduate qualification in Dermatology, Venereology and / or Leprology will be eligible and can become life member by paying a lump sum as mentioned hereinafter; at one time, and will enjoy all the privileges of an member.
  • All life members should be provided with a badge and a certificate with the emblem of IADVL on it.
  • The updated constitution to be published should be distributed to all life members free of cost by the Honorary General Secretary and Treasurer.
  • The life membership number should be in continuation and there should be no duplication of numbers, and new numbers should be given.

Provisional Life Members:
  • Only Post graduate students undergoing training in this speciality in  an Indian Medical College/University/Institution (for courses mentioned in Life member eligibility criterion) are eligible for this category . Such members will neither have any voting rights nor they will be eligible to stand for any executive post at state or national level. Postgraduate students after passing their degree / diploma are eligible to become life members. This is valid for 5 years from joining the Postgraduate course.  
  • Attach a certificate from the Head of the department with details (dates)  of joining and completing the postgraduate degree / course.

NB. : Notwithstanding anything contained in the above, existing life members will continue to be so, irrespective of their academic qualifications.


Registered Medical Practitioners of the Allopathic system of Medicine who are interested in Dermatology, Venereology and/ or Leprology or their allied subjects but who do not either possess a post-graduate qualification or who do not exclusively or primarily engage themselves in the practice, teaching and/ or research of Dermatology, Venereology and / or Leprology or their allied branches may be admitted as Associate members on the recommendation of the Executive Committee of the Branch, but such members will have neither voting rights nor they will be eligible to contest for any elective posts.

Mode of Payments

All membership fee shall be nonrefundable and nontransferable.

The rate of subscription is subject to increase from time to time.

After 31st March only Life Membership contribution / subscription shall be accepted.

Requirements:

  1. is duly signed by two life members and their LM numbers are mentioned on the form.
  2. has E mail ID of the member,
  3. has complete pincode,
  4. has 4 copy passport size Photographs of the member, (Do not use Stapler pins / Do not paste)
  5. has MCI certificate,
  6. has MD/ DVD/ DNB certificate / certificate from HOD stating the joining and passing dates of post graduation
